Hotel Zenith Caen

My review is based on the observation that this hotel is overrated on Google Maps. It looks updated with new appliances, but the overall feeling of being welcome is missing. For Americans, it's basically a low-budget hotel like Motel 6, just recently renovated. No glasses, no coffeemaker, no water, very very small rooms, unappealing breakfast is over at 10. The main issue for me is the Air Conditioning, and I saw an earlier review with a similar complaint. We came back late in the evening, it was cold, there is an AC, but it does not turn on. Complicated touchpad, but whatever I press, nothing works. No manual in the room, I spent 30 minutes on the Internet to find a manual, and no luck. A cold and stuffy night, for 2 people in a very small room. The hotel is about 2 kilometers outside of the town center, parking in Caen is hard to figure out for tourists. One good thing about the hotel is that the parking is easy and free.

This hotel was excellent and conveniently located. The staff are very friendly and were super helpful with answering our questions and accommodating our late check-out breakfast meal. The rooms are on the smaller side, but we didn't mind. It was warm and cosy with a lovely and clean bathroom. The beds were very comfortable too! The restaurant inside the hotel is amazing. I would highly recommend it! We had dinner here and the appetizers and risotto were delicious. The staff were very friendly here as well and were knowledgeable when I talked to them about my gluten allergy. There were a few options for me to choose from which I really appreciated. I did also have the Creme Brûlée for dessert and it was fantastic!

Zenith hotel is an excellent hotel located in Caen, France. The receptionist Mrs. Marie LIEGARD is amazing & welcoming with her good English. The room is very clean, the bathroom is neat, every essential items are available, the room has light everywhere, reading light is available, the wifi is accurate & electrical devices are everywhere in the room & are functioning properly. The restaurant is super, the food is delicious, the French croissant, of course is excellent. The guys working in the restaurant, Vincent, Sébastien & Jean-Paul are excellent & welcoming & gives an amazing service. Jean-Paul, with his excellent English is really good at communication. I recommend this hotel for people who travel in Caen, France. Thank you all!

Very well kept hotel, the rooms are not very large but the bed is comfortable, the bathroom clean and functional, the area quiet as it is a purely residential area. Nearby, you can find supermarkets, bakeries and other restaurants (including the hotel's one, recommended). I would just suggest adding a kettle in the room and a small fridge, just to keep two bottles of water or a drink cool!
